Boomerang by Jillian Parker

when they smoked grass
they sprouted smiles like dandelions

when they found god
they put him in a shoe box

then they strapped on the shoes
laced them up tight like combat boots

everybody wanted their childhood
as marketed by Hollywood

but now we're all hitchiking together
in a rickety blue Mexican school bus

and the price of the ride to Never-land
keeps going up
