The is now accepting submissions for a new theme issue: prose poem. Length to 500 words.

Call for Submissions

The is accepting work for its second theme "issue." This one's based on dreams - a piece retelling a dream, a piece inspired by a dream (or dreams), etc.

Submit work (poetry or prose) to craigtheeditor AT gmail DOT com. All rights are yours, same as always. Reprints are fine, just tell me where the work first appeared so credit can be given.

Deadline is January 1, 2009.

Send work for The's first theme issue. The theme is "quotes."

Find a quote. Any quote. A quote you love, remember, recite, write on a scrap of paper for yourself when you are bored.

For example: "I'm going to remember your name and throw out my head." - Oscar Levant

Write a poem or flash fiction inspired by the quote. Any length. Submit it along with the quote.

Work will appear as a downloadable PDF.

Welcome to The, or as I, being from North Jersey, say, "Thuh." The is an online ma... blogozine of words. Poetry and short shorts. Whatever is sent in. 

Submit to craigtheeditor @ gmail.com (remove space before and after the @), in the body of the e-mail, no attachments please. Accepted pieces will be posted immediately. Previously published work is fine, just tell me where it appeared originally. Payment is exposure. All rights back to authors upon publication.

Write like your balls are on fire. And if you don't have balls, write like a punch to the gunt.

The is, of course, a work in progress.
